In a new group of editorials taking a look at the past and present of Junior Eurovision Song Contest entrants, we will be checking out what the former JESC contestants are up to now and how far they have come since representing their nation in the Junior edition of Europe’s favourite TV show.
In this edition we will be taking a look at the 2003 representative of Denmark, Anne Gadegaard, who represented her nation with the song “Arabiens Drøm” in Copenhagen, Denamrk.
Anne Gadegaard was the first ever Danish representative in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, representing her homeland on home soil, with her song “Arabiens Drøm” which was amongst the favourites back in 2003, although ended 5th on the night out of 16 participants. Since then Anne has not shied away from the limelight, Anne released a number of songs since her JESC experience, in 2004 the Danish singer released her second album, entitled “Ini Mini Miny” which entered the Danish charts at number 2, and her 3rd album in 2005, “Chiki Chiki” making it to number 3 in the album charts.
More recently, Anne has returned to music after taking a few years out, in 2010 she released a song “Bag Skyerne” entering the single charts at number 10. Most Eurovision fans will know Anne more from her 2015 song “Suitcase” which was the favourite to win Dansk Melodi Grand Prix back in March, although Anne did not win the Danish ticket to Vienna, she ended a very respectable 2nd place in the Danish final.
