According to fan site esctoday, the newly created national broadcaster of the principality of Liechtenstein, 1FLTV, has confirmed that they are not currently seeking EBU membership and therefore will not be making their debut in Eurovision 2015. However, despite this set back the broadcaster is still interested in joining the Eurovision family but has not yet announced when it plans to apply for EBU membership.

Liechtenstein has been attempting to join Eurovision for many years and is one of only a few countries left to debut in the contest. The most notable attempt came in 1976 when the country selected Biggi Bachman with “Little Cowboy”; however no broadcaster existed in Liechtenstein until 2008 and so the country was ineligible to take part. The broadcaster is yet to join the EBU due to financial restraints.

No country has debuted at the contest since Azerbaijan and San Marino in 2008, although Kazakhstan is awaiting EBU membership and has been broadcasting the contest for many years.
