uk Eurovision you decide

The BBC have released information about the show that will select the UK’s representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! They will once again use the show ‘Eurovision: You Decide’, although the show will be broadcast on BBC2 this time, as opposed to BBC Four in 2016.

The show will be broadcast live on BBC2 on Friday the 27th of January at 7:30pm (8:30pm CET). The show will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc, just as it was in 2016. The number of songs remains the same, 6. The venue has changed, the venue will be Eventim Hammersmith Apollo, which is a larger venue than 2016.

On the 23rd of January the songs will be revealed on the Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2. The voting system has not been announced, although, we can suggest that the same format will be used that was used when Joe & Jake were selected (the least exciting way of announcing a winner – no voting, no spokespersons, no points – just “And the winner is”.) We can all live in hope that they spice things up and introduce some scoreboard for the 90 minute show.

Who do you want to represent the UK? we will know who will be flying the Union Jack in just 49 days!
