The EBU shocked the world by announcing Australia’s 2015 participation in February of this year and the end result proved popular; 5th place for Guy Sebastian and the door left slightly ajar for a potential Aussie entry in 2016. So with that in mind, who could possibly fill Sebastian’s shoes?

Samantha Jade is your choice for a potential Australian return!

It’s a tie between three; two of the country’s rising starlets and X Factor winners and an international star, but ultimately the first artist requested was fourth season victor Samantha Jade, ahead of fifth season champion Dami Im and international hit factory Sia. Jade was the first female winner of the reality singing competition and has since forged a popular career with hits including “What You’ve Done To Me” and our forum contest NSC’s runner-up “Firestarter”. Will she continue the trend of high-profile artists for Australia and become the second reality show performer after Guy?

Second was also a shared position; drag queen and fellow contestant with Guy on Australian Idol, Courtney Act, electropop act Empire of the Sun, rapper Iggy Azalea and psychedelic rock band Tame Impala were all popular choices.
