No decision on 2016 by the Czech Republic yet!

While the confirmations are slowly starting to trickle in for 2016 there are a few countries where fans of the contest often hold their breath and hope for the best. One such country is the Czech Republic who made tentative steps back into the Eurovision family this year, in the hope of achieving greater results than their previous attempts between 2007-2009. Unfortunately, Marta and Václav failed to qualify, achieving 33 points in the second semi-final in Vienna.

Now, the Czech national broadcaster ČT has confirmed to the country’s leading Eurovision site escportal.cz that no decision on a participation in Sweden has been made. Many fans were concerned over another potential Czech withdrawal but the broadcaster is keen to look into the link between fan interest and the cost of entering to evaluate whether the country should stay.

As it stands, it seems there is still interest from the broadcaster ČT. “Hope Never Dies” became the Czech Republic’s best result in 2015, despite failing to qualify, as Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta gathered 33 points and 13th place.
