Now & Then: Molly represented Sweden in JESC 2006. What has she been up to since?

In a new group of editorials taking a look at the past and present of Junior Eurovision Song Contest entrants, we will be checking out what the former JESC contestants are up to now and how far they have come since representing their nation in the Junior edition of Europe’s favourite TV show.

In this edition we will be taking a look at the 2006 representative of Sweden, Molly Sandén, who represented her nation with the song “Det finaste någon kan få” in Copenhagen, Sweden.

Molly is the first of three Sandén sisters who have participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Molly represented her country in Romania in 2006. Her sister Frida represented Sweden in 2007 with “Nu eller aldrig” and after Sweden took a year out of JESC, they returned in 2009 with the final Sandén sister, Mimmi and her song “Du”.

Since Molly wowed the voters in the 2006 Junior Eurovision, achieving 3rd place, she has came a long way and achieved a lot. Some might say that her relationships with Eric Saade and Danny Saucedo could be named as top achievements, although Molly has had major success in a number of other areas of her life. Molly has voiced a number of films such as Rapunzel in the Swedish dubbed version of Tangled, and recorded songs for High School Musical. Molly has participated in the Swedish final for the Eurovision Song Contest, Melodifestivalen on two occasions, in 2009 when she ended 11th in the Final, and in 2012 with “Why am I Crying” which ended 5th in the final. “Why am I Crying”, although not representing Sweden in Eurovision became known world-wide, in respect that the song was played on an Australian TV show, Ja’mie: Private School Girl:

Molly has also became a business woman, creating her own clothing brand, My by Molly. Will Molly attempt to represent her home country again? This time in the adult version of the Eurovision Song Contest? SVT have not released the list of participants in this year’s Melodifestivalen, so Molly could finally get to represent her nation on homesoil in ESC.

Let’s take a look at the difference between Molly in JESC and more recently:
