
Austria has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the pop-opera song “Wasted Love” by JJ.
“Wasted Love,” written by former Eurovision contestant Teya, who represented Austria in 2023, received 258 points from the jury and 178 from the public. JJ’s shipwreck-themed performance was directed by Sergio Jaén, who entered the spotlight after producing Ireland’s 2024 entry, “Doomsday Blue” by Bambie Thug, which placed sixth. Jaén also served as this year’s stage director for Cyprus and Finland.
The runner-up was Israel, with 60 points from the jury and 297 from the public.

Tonight, hosts comedian Hazel Brugger and Sandra Struder, who placed fifth at Eurovision 1991 representing Switzerland with “Canzone per te,” were joined by TV presenter Michelle Hunziker.

Tonight’s show featured performances from 2024 winner Nemo, who opened the show with “The Code,” as well as runner-ups Baby Lasagna (2024) and Käärijä (2023), who performed a mashup of their respective songs “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” and “Cha Cha Cha.” All three also debuted new songs – Nemo with “Unexplainable,” and Käärijä and Baby Lasagna with “#Eurodab.”

The interval also featured performances from several Swiss Eurovision alumni: “Tout l’univers” by Gjon’s Tears (2021), “She Got Me” by Luca Hänni (2019), “Io senza te” by Peter, Sue and Marc (1981), and “Cinéma” by Paola (1980).
