It is honestly difficult to describe Barbara’s rehearsal because she has left us all shell-shocked in the press centre. The staging was largely the same as the NF version: Barbara by herself, in a stylish top, in the middle of a darkened stage, a single spotlight hitting her from behind. Simplistic, minimalistic and brilliant, Barbara serves us her personality on a silver platter and sells the ensemble with her voice and face.
Putting it into words is a challenge. “Voilà” just is. It’s utterly stunning and is a definite contender for the overall victory.
