If I was an astronaut, I'd be floating in mid-air
And a broken heart would just belong to someone else down there
I would be the centre of my lonely universe
But I'm only human, and I'm crashing down to earth

If I was an astronaut, I'd have a bird's eye view
I'd circle 'round the world and keep on coming back to you
In my floating castle, I'd rub shoulders with the stars
But I'm only human, and I'm drifting in the dark

I'm up in space, man
Up in space, man
I've searched around the universe
Been down some black holes
There's nothing but space, man
And I want to go home

If I was an astronaut, I'd speak to satellites
My navigation systems would search for other life
But I'd be up here thinking 'bout what I'd left behind
'Cause I'm only human with the real world on my mind

I'm up in space, man
Up in space, man
I've searched around the universe
Been down some black holes
There's nothing but space, man
And I want to go home

Gravity keeps pulling me down
As long as you're on the ground, I'll stick around
Stick around
I'll stick around

I'm up in space, man
Up in space, man
I've searched around the universe
Been down some black holes
There's nothing but space, man, no
Oh, I'm in the wrong place, man
Nothing but, nothing but, nothing but space, man
Nothing but, nothing but, nothing but space, man

I've searched around the universe
Been down some black holes
Nothing but space, man
And I want to go home

Yeah but could you PLEASE let them their moment! At least for a few hours. They have some time to sort things out. Let the message motivate people, give them hope. Don’t talk about who will host instead of Ukraine. We will know that early enough.

A well produced average uninteresting song performed by a charismatic solid singer was all what the UK needed to do well with the jury, and not too bad with the televote.
I’m thrilled for the British people who waited so long for a good result, they truly deserve their moment of joy, after having to stand the general moany narrative “Europe hates the UK” for many years! At least this time they can have a break.

I'm still on a high from Saturday night, Sam was amazing and I'm so pleased with 2nd place!

I hope Sam goes on to have a huge career, he deserves it!

Oh yay, the no. 1 in the UK gets a lot of emphasis so if this leads to actual commercial success how much good the future for the UK benefit from this result? I only wish good things for the nation of Pop and their outcome in the contest. May they have a similar renaissance to the other old ESC nations lately that will also result in a win in the near future (and of course, same applies to Spain and France).

If Spaceman gets to number one then it helps to kill off myth number 2 that is often brought up by established artists when they refuse to do the contest/are reluctant to do it. That being that doing Eurovision would ruin their career. Sam's result helps disprove the "They hate us" idea, him getting to number one proves that doing it can boost a career rather than ending it.
