Lyrics by: Fredrik Kempe
Language: English
Placing: 18th (47 points)

Everything has a beginning
Everything comes to an end
Take it or leave it, you'd better believe it
Be my love or be my friend

Try to deny what you're feeling
And you'll know that your heart will say no
Love will last longer, growing stronger and stronger
If you stay and don't let go

Oh... out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh... taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive

This is a story of love and compassion
Only heroes can tell
Oh... out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive

Heaven and earth keep colliding
But with love on a world of its own
Oh... there you can't fake it, just make it or break it
Only you can find the one

Oh... out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh... taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive

This is a story of love and compassion
Only heroes can tell
Oh... out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive (Will survive)
Oh... survive (Will survive)

Heroes can live on their own
But heroes never die alone

Oh... out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh... taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive
(This is a story of love and compassion)
Heroes can tell
Oh, out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive

One of the best Swedish entries in last few years, it didn't deserve to flop.

There's nothing wrong with the song. I like the song. I just don't like Charlotte at all. She for me, ruined the song. And I honestly think it wouldn't have done so poorly with a different singer.

The singer shouldn't matter because it should be all about the songs. But that's unfortunately not how the televoting public thinks.

Really nice! Although I don't like Gaga.
About Perrelli I think the way she uses her make-up makes her look like an alien. But I love Charlotte!! :)

Sweden was the real winner in 2008 for me.The performance was amazing and I love to listen this song everytime.
The most underated song ever and singer too
She was 1000000000000000000000 times better that Dima Bilan.

I don't get why many people was surprised after the outcome. THis is just an ordinary schlagger song which deserved to qualify, but didn't deserve anything more ;)

The performance was awful almost as awful as her btw...

Well, she had a serious problem with the make-up...in 1999 she looked like an angel xheart
And we all must appreciate her great vocals-not that easy to sing a dance song and move.Take for an example Hungary this year////

I pretty much agree with the others here, okay song though i usually dislike the genre, but her looks were just creepy and distracting.

WHY oh why did she turn b/w at the start of the song???

I would have hoped to be able to answer that fully, but I believe it was done cause it looked cool. Maybe it had something to get a cartoon-feeling to it, that the hero comes out of the dark world to saves us. It did work much better in MF, which a darker b/w tone and a stage that was a bit rustic, but in Belgrade, it looked too bright and ugly and Charlotte, who had a lot of personal problems at the time, didn't look so healthy either, which made everything worse.
