I've noticed thanks to Måneskin, Roop, Käärija fans that there are many fans of Eurovision who have also been rock enthusiasts and lovers of many alternative acts, eventhough these genres have rarely been represented at Eurovision.
Even today, after having had Lordi, Måneskin, Blind Channel at the stage, most of the Bubble still can't recognize the melody in a rock song, or a chord, or make disctinction between the instruments recorded, or find a genre to define these entries.
Rock and Alternative have also vanished from radio and TV and on most streaming platforms the most listened Rock and Alternative bands are those decades old. Plus they have maybe a few million listeners.
I started this thread for everybody to share the best rock or alternative artists that they loved and used to listen. Also to remind us all about past times in our lifes and the songs that defined them.
I'll start by posting that one song that, with a benefit of hindsight, showed that me liking it at the age of 8 or so had shown a sneaky premonition I'd not be normal.
What an absolute banger! Timeless! Decades later I heard it again at a millenials' 2nd wedding party I attended this summer. The youngsters watched the ballroom area as if the bomb blasted there when we stood up to dance.
Please share here your legendary rockers and alternatives, so that we never forget the great music we had been gifted with.
Love, Polly from the Nevermind land.
