This year, Margaret Berger takes part in the TV2 show "Hver gang vi møtes" ("Every time we meet"), which is based on the Dutch concept "De beste zangers van Nederland", where famous artists make their own versions of other famous artists' songs.

In the first episode, she made her own version of a song by rap group Klovner I Kamp (Esben "Dansken" Selvig is in the show) called "Glade dager" ("Happy days" or "Good times"). She can rap! The DJ (Finger'n) is also from Klovner I Kamp, and he's been making fun TV programs together with Dansken the past few years.

Episode two focused on Åse Kleveland, who participated in ESC 1966, and in this episode she made a new version of the song "Gi meg fri" ("Set Me Free"), which ended 2nd in Melodi Grand Prix in 1966. Margaret had translated it to English, and she dedicated it to the gay community. :)

I have no idea if the TV2 links works outside of Norway, so I'd appreciate some feedback on that. :) Also, the YT videos might get deleted, I kinda doubt TV2 approves of those uploads tbh...

They work. Thanks a lot for this update.

Great, that means I don't have to wait until I find YT videos before posting. Thanks! :)

I'll update more, next program focuses on Ida Maria. For Margaret's program, I'll post the versions the others have made of her songs, and her originals. :)

Thanks! I didn't know the song, but it was a great performance. Margaret's voice has some alluring quality in itself. xmusic
The purpose of the show is that they sing each other's songs, right? Is there an episode where the others sing Margaret's songs? I'd like to see that too.

It was pretty good, but I think I prefer the 2 first songs.
Yes, that's the concept. And according to the TV guide, Benny Borg is next, and then it's Margaret, so in about 2 weeks. :)

Also, I got you covered, I wrote this earlier:
For Margaret's program, I'll post the versions the others have made of her songs, and her originals. :)

Margaret's episode was aired on Saturday, and here are the performances:

First up was Ida Maria, who picked "Samantha":
Ida Maria: http://www.tv2.no/v/1141878/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hErXfNM8Zoo
I was expecting it to be a bit harder and faster, considering that Ida Maria makes rock music. Not bad tho. :)

Next, Hanne Sørvaag, who picked "Will You Remember Me Tomorrow?", and translated it to her Norwegian dialect, making the Norwegian title "Vil du huska meg i mårå?":
Hanne: http://www.tv2.no/v/1141879/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc1lhki0OGI
Reviews say it's better than the original, but I can't really agree with that, even if Margaret herself does. It is pretty good tho. :)

Benny Borg picked a more recent song, "Scream":
Benny: http://www.tv2.no/v/1141875/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re42z22orcw
Not quite my style, but it might be more fitting to the lyrics and the theme of the song, than the original is. I still prefer the original tho.

Esben "Dansken" Selvig picked "Apologize", and made it into a Norwegian rap song (probably titled "Unnskyld"):
Dansken: http://www.tv2.no/v/1141877/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7Ef13jDHbo
I'm actually not that much of a fan of the original, so this is actually the first version where I think I prefer the new version. Close call tho.

Åse Kleveland isn't a songwriter like the rest, so she got help from Ravi, and they rewrote a song we all know pretty well, "I Feed You My Love". Ravi writes everything in Norwegian, this being no exception, so this is called "En Enkel Sang Å Vinne Verden Med" ("A Simple Song To Win The World With"), and is about Åse and Margaret's experiences as artists representing Norway in ESC, almost 50 years apart:
Åse: http://www.tv2.no/v/1141880/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn_hZBIk3Ik
This is different, and left everyone a bit shocked. :p These lyrics should be translated tbh, but I'm not entirely sure I'm the right one to do it...

And last up was Eldar Vågan, who picked a song from her first album, "Lifetime Guarantee", and translated it (or actually, the music video) into Norwegian ("Livstidsgaranti"):
Eldar: http://www.tv2.no/v/1142234/
Margaret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OZ4iXHsBqU
This is also different, making this song into tango was unexpected. Pretty funny tho. :)

And last up, a bonus performance, Margaret and Hanne performing "Vil du huska meg i mårå?":

Last artist to be covered is Eldar Vågan, best known as song writer and guitar player in the band Vazelina Bilopphøggers (which is based heavily on the drummer's car parts shop Vazelina Bilopphøggeri), but he's also got a solo career and has played in other bands. Margaret picked one of the early songs from Vazelina, "Gi Meg Fri I Kveld" (Give Me Time Off Tonight).

Vazelina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40WW5bxysc4
Margaret: http://www.tv2.no/v/1147286/

Next week they're doing duets, and I have no idea what to expect tbh. :p Except good music. :)

Kinda forgot about this.

So, the duets program.
The first one Margaret did was with Eldar Vågan, on a song from "Dansken"'s other band, Yoga Fire, called "De eneste i verden" ("The only ones in the world").
Yoga Fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4h-dRWg7aE
Margaret & Eldar: http://www.tv2.no/v/1149063/

The second one she did was with Hanne Sørvaag, on a Christian spiritual song that Ida Maria covered last year, called "Scandalize My Name". I can't find Ida Maria's version on YouTube tho, but there are other (older) versions there.
Margaret & Hanne: http://www.tv2.no/v/1149066/

And since none of the other duets were based on any of Margaret's songs, that's the end of season 6 of this show.

She took part in a program series about making joiks and dedicating them to their idols, and they were showing a concert with all the joiks they made in the series. I only saw half of the episode with Margaret, but it wasn't really my thing tbh...

Thanks. So she didn't sing, she had only the song sung to her, right?
