Looking at the places 40 to 50 ... yeah, actually Elis could be there without any problem. Deciding for a 100% accurate Top 50 is really a big task. I could easily exchange some of these songs.

It's lovely to see so many hold that special Antony and the Johnson's song in high regard. For the people that consider "Hope There's Someone" their favourite of the songs i've sent so far, i'm hoping my WV57 entry will have a chance to topple it.

I don't know how you think about that but for me it was a big surprise to see Himinhvel winning. I thought these songs which are most compatible to the mass would fight for the win which were probably Of Monsters and Men & Dikta. I expected Arstidir to be underdog who need to rely on the support from a few users. However it turned out that almost everybody who voted fell in love with their song or liked it at least.
I am happy that Arstidir gets another try. For those who don't know: they have been my debut band in WV 39. My WV career started with them. Unfortunately they failed with their beautiful little song "Á meðan jörðin sefur" which was pretty unfair in my opinion. But many users with great taste weren't active in WV in that time so I hope nowadays their songs will get more acceptance. Now they get another chance with a better song and I just hope they will get a ticket to the final. Really a talented bunch of singers

This is a very nice surprise. Of course I was desperate for that Low Roar song, and still wanted justice for Tilbury so I only gave this a 7/10. I do really like it though. It's an interesting choice. Something that's very typically you, but also unique as you're the only person sending music like this.

As for the people that stopped Low Roar from winning...

Usually I do a big thank you posts naming all the people who gave points to me. However we didn't get a voting grid this time so.. well actually I can look at the rankings I created last night but ehm ehhh

I just noticed that I got eight There must be something magical about that number... Anyway, 9th place for Himinhvel is a wonderful surprise to me. After Arstidir failed in my debut in WV 39 I didn't expect them to beat that result that clearly. It just affirms my theory that the community structure more and more changed in my favour through the time thanks to newbies who appreciate my songs. Since WV 50 I got five Top 10 results which feels insane for me
Again, Thank you!

For WV 58 and some editions following, Iceland will completely renew its style, showing off different other kinds of music.

From DNQ 17th in the semi to 9th in the final with this artist is the most wonderful turn around (maybe there is hope for a certain gentleman i'd like to bring back myself). This beautiful song succeeding shows that WV players have a lot of patience for songs like this that need to unravel. Congratulations Flo I must check out more of Árstíðir's music for sure.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I have to tell you a message that’s isn’t easy to tell.
After more than one year and 19 editions I noticed it’s time for a change, time for trying something new. I will leave the country of my heart Iceland and move to the United States. After I realized there is a possibility to become the juror of the USA I immediately knew that I have to take this step. Being US juror is a great challenge and the saying „USA is the land of endless opportunities“ is very true when it comes to music. I won’t stay in USA a long time but in the coming editions I try to send different songs from different genres that I use to love. Old classics as well as newer songs. Mainly Folk and Rock songs. And some instrumentals.

I can look back on a great and surprisingly successful period in Iceland and I have lots of amazing memories. Of course nothing can beat my win in WV 45 which I like to call miracle cause it came out of the blue. I will never forget how thrilled I was during the last scoreboards. That edition was followed by my host edition which is probably the most interesting experience I made and strongest memory I have in my mind. It was actually a stressful time but I only remember on the nice parts of it.

I’m very satisfied with my selections cause I think I represented Iceland in a great way. I’m lucky that I wasn’t in that dilemma in which I gotta decide between being successful and sending the songs I love. It’s great that the songs I love were appreciated a lot in this community.
Some stunning facts:
• I qualified for the grand final 13 times and missed it only 6 times. In the last 14 editions I qualified 12 times
• 7 times I grabbed a place in the Top 10 which is more than every third edition & ofc I won once
I have no influence of how successful I am so basically I have to say thank you to my loyal voters who made all this possible. So this part of this post is rather a part of gratitude than a part of „boasting about successes“.

One could easily think that I leave Iceland because I’ve got a lack of ideas given the fact that my last three artists were returning artist. Actually I still have a long list of artists that I’d like to send to the WV (including a nice „Retro“ national final) but these are plans for the future. Yes, I will return to Iceland. I don’t know the moment I‘ll return, maybe I have to be patient. However I think I will find a way

I thought about a doing a special LL „Iceland party“ on dubtrack in which I play all my Iceland WV songs but I don’t think that many people would be interested and I don’t like to be too egocentric I’m just one user among of many (great) users and Iceland just one of many great countries taking part in this contest.

Anyway, I will upload an updated version of my WV recap including every song from WV 39 to WV 57. That might take some time since I reset my computer recently so I gotta crack Vegas Pro again and of course all settings and so on are deleted -__- #firstworldproblems Anyway, when it’s online I hope Staewi will put it in the starting post.
