ODE TO EMPIRE WOMEN AT NSC
"Rome" wins 22nd Griffiniskaja Laul

The 22nd edition of Griffiniskaja Laul, the musical extravaganza that captures the hearts and ears of the Griffin Empire, reached its crescendo in a dazzling display of talent, glamour, and fierce competition. Hosted for the sixth time in the radiant capital of the principality of Meremaa, Mare Incatato, the event lit up the Griffin Riviera with its unparalleled energy and excitement.

Mare Incatato, the iconic glamorous metropolis and the second-largest city in the Griffin Empire, provided the perfect backdrop for a night of musical excellence. As the city's lights shimmered against the Griffin Riviera, seven principalities of the empire showcased their finest musical offerings in a bid for glory.

Eight Natian countries, including newcomers Strenci, Fierraria, and Vermilion, participated in the international jury, lending their discerning ears to the selection process. Their votes, alongside those of the Griffin Empire's televoters, determined both the Griffin representative at the 227th Nation Song Contest and the overall winner of the festival.

Sletterimaa's Solann emerged triumphant with her captivating performance of "Rome," securing the principality's fourth victory in Griffiniskaja Laul history. However, victory was not easily won, as Foreõsvdetrre's Reneé Rapp and Westersund's Karl Killing pushed Solann to her limits with their stellar performances of "Pretty Girls" and "Petan," respectively. The final results left audiences on the edge of their seats, with the top three acts separated by a mere six points.

In a dramatic twist, the jury results ended in a tie between Sletterimaa and Foreõsvdetrre. With both principalities scoring the same number of points, the tiebreaker rule came into play, awarding victory to Sletterimaa by virtue of their higher number of maximum scores. As the confetti rained down and cheers echoed through Mare Incatato, Sletterimaa's victory was confirmed by the televote, cementing their place in Griffiniskaja Laul history and propelling them onto the international stage at the upcoming Nation Song Contest.
