Why do you guys think this did so much better in Eastern Europe vs Western Europe?

Maybe, just maybe, Abor and Tynna hungarian descent could have been a factor. I know Hungary is technically mittelEuropa, but...

I‘m still not convinced by the whole thing but anyway, congrats for another respectable result! Let’s see what 2026 and SWR will have to offer!

It feels like a good ending overall. Yeah higher than 15th would have been nice, but I don't think there ever high expectations of a top 10. I think it'll turn out to have been a positive career move for them to participate.

I also thought this was top 10 worthy. The most current and actually connected to what young people here listen to nowadays.
Abdo and Tynna were a great discovery and I wish them all the best for their future. Being siblings with one of them being the creative brain behind while the other one is more up in front could totally work in their favor and longevity as rivalry as in family projects such as Oasis, Kelly Family etc. seem unlikely.
However, I am not too sad that Chefsache Raab (most likely) won't become an annual thing. There were too many problems with it and the Chef himself seemed to have lost some sparkle.
Now its all about Reset and of course the expectations for SWR are high. Let's hope they took notice of fans demanding a quality NF. I wouldn't be surprised though if they decide to go the route of AT and CH and go internal.

Germany has reached a good position after dark years. I have never been a fan of "Baller", it had its limits as a song, however to say that it failed to have its own identity is false. And at the ESC, for me, those who manage to stand out are mostly rewarded. Abor & Tynna have also managed to establish themselves as characters. She with her rebellious sense and he with the virtuosity supported by his luminous instrument.

For years, Germany has churned out pretzels all sadly burnt but you can't say that they didn't put in the effort. Wrong choices but at least there was the desire to change direction. Now the first leaf. Beautiful. The advice would be to continue like this. Abandon radio friendly. But also not to let yourself be tempted by disco and electronic music. It can lead, if you choose well and are lucky, to immediate good results like France but, unless a masterpiece explodes, it is useless to win and in the long run it is harmful. Germany must understand that it must let every musical genre speak and reward the strongest. Maybe next year with a ballad it can bring the crystal microphone back home. But I have bad vibes. I think the leaders will choose to focus only and exclusively on songs in the style of "Baller". We'll see. However, I'm happy for the German fans. They were finally rewarded for their great patience. They enjoyed a Eurovision Song Contest without bitterness.

According to Cumhuriyet (one of the opposition news sources in Turkey), Germany had threatened to withdraw from the contest if Israel were disqualified. You can check out the full article here and translate it into English if you’d like:

After a quick google search - not a single german speaking News source covers this story. No newspaper, no tv channel. The only hit is a video from TRT Germany. Gak himself just cites "a source" without giving any precision on who this source is, what exactly the source told him or how he can evaluate the credibility of it. That is just hearsay and normally a sign of boulevard-journalism.

The rest of the article is a clear misinformation as you can check for yourself because it presents the Joost incident last year in a manipulative way, presenting his own view as objective truth by just ignoring facts and leaving out relevant information to inform the reader about all the details of the incident. I don't know if Gak himself is to blame for that or the newspaper - in either way this is far from being trustworthy and so is the story about the alleged German intervention. Don't get fooled.

I also found his X account. Gak posts multiple times on it each day and really every post is about Israel and Gaza. He is not the best source as his trustworthiness is in question.

The unfortunate detail here is quite clear: Cumhuriyet newspaper actually sourced this suspicious piece from AA (Anadolu Agency, Turkey's state news agency). 🤣🤣 It's pathetic to see a country's state-run news agency producing official reports based on alleged quotes—just to reinforce their political agenda.
Why are they even suddenly so interested in Eurovision, in which they don't even participate ... oop lmao

This is all style over melody. The lalala part will bring it down for many including me. If most songs were like that I don't think Eurovision would work.

Stefan Raab wants to get rid of the ESC-Juries.

Two years of mid table scores and the juries gotta go??? Sit down Stefan you’ve been back for 5 minutes!

Juries are crucial in this day and age
