Ees is one of then. He's been releasing music for a decade, got 120,000 subscribers ans got a very clear and different and unique sound due to his German/Namibian heritage/origin.

A huge part of Raabs succuss was also his strong prensence in the media. If I remember correctly, his entries got more points from and voters than usually. But that hype from back then is nothing he can rely on today.

He himself came 5th place, Max Mutzke 8th, Guildo Horn 7th... I dunno guys, don't think he's just lucky to consistently produce Top 10 acts whenever he is involved in the process. We have yet to bomb with an entry that Raab helped to produce.

It can still happen of course, he's old now. But to reduce his track record to two people is not the big picture.

you are right, i only counted the times when he organised the national final.
(still gotta say i don't think he found / produced anything really exciting, except for taken by a stranger, everything else was - for my taste - very average. as funny as his own song or guildo were at the time, but musically there was nothing extraordinary imo)

How can you know that by now? They just opened the Call, I doubt they will select the finalists before the end of the Year as earliest.

Ees just released his new song which he had submitted to Stefan Raab for our upcoming preselection.
The song is called "One" and fully performed in English.

Well, since the ESC season has officially started with the Montenegro preselections, I think it's a good time for my yearly plea for Powerwolf to participate in Germany. Here are some of my favorite songs they released this year:

I know the chances are pretty much non-existent, but a man can always hope!

Edit: Forgot to mention, but if somebody is interested - their song "1589" is based on the story of a historical figure, a man executed (in an absolutely horrendous manner) for supposedly being a werewolf. His name was Peter Strumpp and it's a story definitely worth reading (here's the link to the dedicated wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Stumpp).

Promising?? This kind of music is only made for the German speaking market, too reliant on understanding the lyrics and melodically his songs were always rather boring.

I agree with you. I haven't heard a song from him that excited me in any way. It is rather sleepy music. But who knows? Suddenly he writes one that makes me change my mind. Such things happen.
