The FSC Promotions Thread is a forum-thread where the FSC-juries can promote their entries (post pictures/song lyrics/info on artist/group etc) each FSC-month.
It makes it easier for everyone to go to one place in the FSC Forum and find the promotions here, instead of having to go to every single jury-thread and check there.
This is how it works:
1. The FSC juries may promote their FSC-entries in this thread. NB! This can only be done once the FSC-edition has officially been started.
2. It is voluntary to post promotions in this thread. Of course every jury can post their promotion in their own jury-thread also, this is an extra feature.
3. This FSC Promotions Thread is for entry-promotions only, no discussions/talk/comments must be posted here (that is to be done in the other FSC forum-threads).

Representing Norway in FSC January 2010 is one of Norway’s most talented female Electro-pop artists, Annie with a catchy Electro-pop song called “Don’t Stop”. This is one of three new and previously unreleased tracks that were added to her “Don’t Stop”-album for the album’s official release in October 2009. The album - in an earlier incarnation - was promoted in 2008 and songs leaked onto the internet though the album saw no official release at that time. Annie parted company with her record label and took the master-tapes with her. And in the autumn of 2009 she finally released the album and included the new song “Don’t Stop” - our entry for Norway here in FSC January - and two others. The album (which included popular singles such as “Songs Remind Me Of You” and “My Love Is Better”) received critical acclaim and re-established her as one of Norway’s most innovative and colourful Electro-pop artists.
Annie, or Anne Lilia Berge Strand as is her real name, was born on 21st November 1977. She is a Norwegian Electro-pop artist and DJ from Bergen, Norway. After completing secondary school, Annie started DJing in Bergen, where she met house-producer and future boyfriend Tore Kroknes. In 1999, Annie and Kroknes released the single "The Greatest Hit", which became popular in Norwegian and British underground nightclubs. Before Annie and Kroknes could release an album, Kroknes tragically died from a congenital heart defect in 2001. She returned to recording later that year, collaborating with Richard X, Röyksopp, and Timo Kaukolampi. Annie's DJing experiences taught her about sound and production and had an impact on her music. Annie went on to sign a record deal with UK ”679 Recordings” in 2003, releasing her debut album ”Anniemal” in 2004, an innovative and catchy Electro-pop album (with influences also from disco, hip hop, bubblegum pop, 80s-music, dance-pop as well as R&B) for which she received widespread critical acclaim and several Norwegian music awards. The album included her club-and-radio-hits ”Chewing Gum” and ”Heartbeat”.
In 2005 Annie released a DJ Mix Album as part of !K7’s DJ-Kicks series and then in 2007 she signed a record deal with UK’s Island Records. She started work on the ”Don’t Stop”-album, an album which was to be preceeded by the single ”I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me”. For many reasons (among them the moderate success of the single and differences of opinion as to the way forwards) the album was delayed several times and as mentioned before Annie finally parted company with Island Records and went on to release the album - including some new tracks - in the autumn of 2009 on an independent record label called Smalltown Supersound.
Annie has been praised for her unique "indie" style of Electro-pop and Synth-pop music and has by some been described as "a pop singer with credibility, an indie artist with one eye on the dancefloor". Annie herself describes her music as "pop with strange edges” and is without a doubt a talented, innovative and colourful Norwegian music artist with an attitude and a fresh perspective from whom we will undoubtedly hear more in the future.
Our entry for FSC January is alas a new catchy Norwegian Electro-pop song in her distinct style performed by the talented young artist Annie.

After a short break Germany returns to the FSC with one of it's most successful bands of the last decade.
Silbermond's band members originally met in 1998 in Bautzen, Saxony when they participated in the music project Ten Sing. Two years later, they decided to form their own group, and as a result they began performing locally under the name Jast (composed by the initial letters of the band members Johannes, Andreas, Stefanie and Thomas). In 2001, they changed their name to Silbermond, simultaneously concentrating on songs in German language for the first time.
In January 2004 the group got the chance to perform as opening act for singer Jeanette Biedermann. Afterwards they released their first single "Mach's Dir Selbst", followed-up by their debut album Verschwende deine Zeit, which was eventually certified double platinum in Germany and Austria and spawned three further singles, including top 5 hit "Symphonie".
In April 2006, Silbermond released their second album Laut Gedacht. The album debuted at #1 on the German and Austrian album charts and spawned another top 10 hit with its lead single "Unendlich". While the album's second single, "Meer Sein" failed to enter the top 30, its third single, "Das Beste", released in October 2006, became the group's first number one single.
Their third Album Nichts Passiert was released on 20 March 2009. It debuted at #1 on both the German, the Swiss and the Austrian album charts. The first single "Irgendwas bleibt" also became a #1 hit, whereas their second single "Ich bereue nichts" only made it into the top 20.
The third single from the Album "Krieger des Lichts" refers to the book "The Manual of the Warrior of Light" written by the famous Brazilian author Paulo Coelho and is another Top 10 hit for the band.

Krista debuted on Bulgaria's musical scene in 2008 with her massive hit - Tova, koeto iskash (That, which you want), just after she finishes the National Music Academy, Pop and Jazz singing section, with excellent grades. A few months before that she wins a contest for vocal artists in February, competing with 180 finalists. "Tova, koeto iskash" quickly gains admiration from both musical critics and audience, but not only in Bulgaria. MTV shows her video 6 times on World Chart Express, beginning with 2nd place in their top 10 chart. The song also brings her a nomination from BG Radio in the category "Best debut for 2008" (not a very challenging one, since they don't include chalga singers in these nominations). Krista also wins the special Debut Award from the contest "Golden spring", organized by BNR (Bulgarian National Radio). "Imam" (I have) is the new single by Krista. Authors are B.O.Y.A.N. and Magga (Yes, the same, who did Desi's song from FSC December). Right now Krista is working on her first solo album, which will be released in the beginning of 2010. Musical producer is B.O.Y.A.N, and special names from the bulgarian non-chalga music scene, which also have a part in it are Magga, Lubo (the ex-lead vocal of "Te"), Beloslava (you might see her in OSC, although she's relatively young, LOL), Mariq Ilieva and others.
There isn't much gossip about Krista, since she's new, not that famous and not that scandalous. The only gossip about her is being close friend to Mariq Ilieva (big pop-star), who has been protecting and helping her ever since the start of her career and that actually Mariq Ilieva's protection enabled Krista to become such a star and have so many investments in her. That's perfectly believable, since we know everything is about connections in any business, and since with that chalga look and voice Krista wouldn't manage to deal with the resistance from the music guild they normally provide for everyone and rise to this rank. Not that I mind of course
Marija Šerifovi? (born November 14, 1984) is a Serbian singer. She won the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song Molitva. Šerifovi? was born in Kragujevac, Socialist Republic of Serbia, Yugoslavia and is the daughter of Verica Šerifovi?, also a notable singer. She was also one of the judges on Eurosong to choose the Irish entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2008 and sung Molitva to close the show. She was also a member of the International Jury in Melodifestivalen 2009, the selection for the Swedish entry to Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
Marija Šerifovi?'s debut album Naj, Najbolja (English: The Very, Very Best) was released in 2003 and was well received. The biggest hit from the album was the lead single "Znaj da znam" (English: Know That I Know) composed by Darko Dimitrov. In the summer of 2005, she released the single Agonija, which was a cover version of Greek superstar Despina Vandi's "You're Not Here" (Greek: Olo lipis).
Her second studio album Bez Ljubavi (English: Outta Love) was released in 2006, and was as successful as her debut album. In early 2006, she released first single from the album called Bez ljubavi (English: Outta Love). On 28 June, 2007 she released an album called: Marija Šerifovic: Molitva - The Best Of.
Marija's third studio album Nisam Angeo (English: I Am Not An Angel) was released in spring 2008, and it contained 9 new songs.
In 2003, she participated in the Budva Festival with the song Gorka ?okolada ("Bitter Chocolate") again by Darko Dimitrov. In 2004, she took part in the same festival again with a song called Bol do ludila ("pain until madness") and won first prize. The song was a regional chart topper. For the 2005's Beovizija, then the Serbian semifinal of former Serbia and Montenegro's national pre-selection of the Eurovision Song Contest, Evropesma, the song was called Ponuda ("Offer"), and it came 18th. That same year, she entered as a favourite and won the Serbian Radio Festival with a song U nedelju ("on Sunday"), written by Leontina Vukomanovi?. She also received the award for the best vocal performance.
On February 21, 2007, Šerifovi? held her first solo concert at Belgrade's Sava Centar, considered to be a major break in the Serbian music scene. A 4,000-strong audience attended.
During the Croatian parliamentary election, 2007, Marija Serifovic sang in Zagreb for the Independent Democratic Serb Party.
Šerifovi? won the Beovizija 2007 with the song "Molitva" (meaning "Prayer" in English) on 8 March, winning the combined votes of the jury and televoting and thus qualified to be the first representative of newly independent Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. The song was also recorded in English as "Destiny" and in Finnish as "Rukoilen". There is also a Russian version of the song called Molitva.
As a part of her Eurovision Song Contest promotional tour, Šerifovi? visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Republic of Macedonia, Switzerland and Greece. Although a promotional video was originally planned, a documentary film will be made which will include both the music video and the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest.
On 12 March, the draw of the running order for the semi-final and the final was held. Serbia was the 15th country to participate in the semi-final, and qualified for the final, where they presented their song in the 17th position, following Germany and preceding Ukraine. Her song "Molitva" (Prayer) won the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.
At the press after Eurovision Marija said: "Tonight I am very proud being a Serb!"
When she landed at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, 70,000–100,000 people prepared a mass rally for her in front of the Civic Assembly of Belgrade.
She held a concert in her birth town Kragujevac on 25 May in front of the town hall. She performed in front of about 60,000 people who came to celebrate the triumph at Eurovision. She explained that the concert was very different in Kragujevac, because in that town, she sang before her friends, colleagues, teachers, neighbours and those whom she generally recognised in her every-day life.
On 24 December 2007 in Kragujevac and 15 January 2008 in Belgrade, Šerifovi? sang her Eurovision winning hit song "Molitva" (Prayer) at an election rally of the Serbian Radical Party. She also endorsed the presidential candidacy of the party's nationalistic president Tomislav Nikoli? adding that her song was "a prayer for a new, different and more honest Serbia". Many of Marija's fans were disappointed with her decision to support Mr Tomislav Nikolic for president, considering that the Serbian Radical Party's platform is based on the Greater Serbia ideal, and the fact that the Serbian Radical Party leader Vojislav Šešelj is imprisoned by the post-war ICTY in The Hague. There has been some speculation that song writers Sasa Milosevic Mare, and Vladimir Grajic Graja who wrote the Eurovision song "Molitva", quit working on Marija's new album, because of her political views.
The European Union is considering whether Marija Serifovic should be allowed to continue in her role as one of fifteen "intercultural ambassadors" appointed for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (2008) due to her nationalist leanings.
However, before Marija went to Helsinki, in an RTS broadcast, called "Avalski toranj", where each of four guests give the names of the three most important Serbs ever, Marija chose, as one of them, Dr Zoran ?in?i?, ex Serbian Premier and leader of the Democratic Party. Also, in elections for the Croatian Parliament, at the end of 2007, Marija went to Zagreb to support Milorad Pupovac, a leader of the Serbian Democratic Party, about whom the Radicals do not have a good word to say.

FSC Norway - February 2010 - Aleksander With feat. Lene Marlin - Worth It
Representing Norway in FSC February 2010 are the talented Norwegian pop-artists Aleksander With feat. Lene Marlin.
Aleksander With, full name Aleksander Denstad With, was born on 30th June 1987 in Trondheim, Norway. In high school he studied music and then in 2004 he started the unsigned music project WimpyLime together with his girlfriend-singer Vivian Sørmeland and two other musicians. WimpyLime wrote all of their material as a group and together could play the keyboard, piano, guitar, bass, and drums. The project lasted until 2006 when both Aleksander and Vivian took part in the Norwegian Music IDOL tv-contest. Vivian came a very respectable 3rd, but Aleksander won the contest becoming the Norwegian IDOL-winner of 2006.
Aleksander released his first album titled ”Coming Home” on 23rd October 2006. The album was a success and peaked at nr 4 on the Top 40 Norwegian Albums Chart upon release. The album included his IDOL-winner’s song "A Little Too Perfect" which became a sales- and radio success in Norway, as well as other popular single-hits like "The Other Side" and "Free Ride".
In the following couple of years he also did several shows in Japan, gaining a fan-crowd there, chart-success and good record sales. He has toured around Japan together with artists such as Steely Dan and Babyface, an accomplishment for such a young Norwegian artist.
His next release was in June 2009 when he released the single ”What’s The Story”, which alas was the Norwegian entry in FSC September 2009. And more recently, in October 2009 he released the second single from his forthcoming 2010-album, the song and duet called ”Worth It” featuring Lene Marlin on vocals, the song which is our entry here in FSC February 2010. His coming 2nd album is called ”Still Awake” and will be released in Norway in February/March 2010 according to plan. Aleksander is a talented Norwegian pop-artist from whom we will undoubtedly hear more in the future.
Lene Marlin Pedersen, with the artist-name Lene Marlin, was born on 17th August 1980 in Tromsø in northern Norway. She has subsequently become one of Norway’s most famous pop-artists and is also a songwriter. Her first single was ”Unforgivable Sinner” in 1998 and it became a huge hit both nationally and in some other European countries. The song was taken from her debut-album ”Playing My Game” which won several Norwegian music awards in 1999. The album also included popular songs such as ”Sitting Down Here” and ”Where I’m Headed”. In 2003 she released her 2nd album ”Another Day”. The title-track and also the single ”You Weren’t There” became popular radio-hits in Norway. She also had some moderate success in Italy. Her 3rd album ”Lost in a Moment” came in 2005 and included the single ”How Would It Be”. Though still a popular radio-star, her sales this time were more moderate. In 2006 she performed with the Swiss band Lovebugs on their single "Avalon", which made the Top 10 in the Swiss chart as well as gaining some radio-play in Norway and in some other European countries. In the summer of 2008 she moved to London and focused on her personal life for a period, entering into a relationship with Norwegian entertainer Kåre Conradi.
She then started work on some new songs and in February 2009 the single ”Here We Are”, which also was the Norwegian entry in FSC March 2009, was released. This was followed by her latest album ”Twist The Truth”. Most recently she alas took part on Aleksander With’s song ”Worth It” released in October 2009, our entry here for Norway. Lene is a very popular pop-artist with a distinctive voice and her own guitar-based music style songs. definite At the same time she is also a somewhat elusive/secretive artist who seldom gives interviews, seldom does concerts and who prefers to work with her music by herself, taking the time she needs for her various projects. There is therefore a certain mysticism surrounding this very talented Norwegian singer and songwriter. Lene Marlin has star quality, without doubt.

Toše Proeski – Jos uvijek sanjam da smo zajedno ("I Still Dream That We Are Together")
For February Macedonia is entering previously unreleased song from now the national and balkan music legend - Toše Proeski (RIP).
the song was released on the conert "Te sakame site Tose" that was held a day before his b-day in Skopje on January 24th.
besides Jos uvijek sanjam da smo zajedno (sanged by Tose in croatian before his death) 8 more songs were presented! all of them were written by Tose but he never managed to record them so they were now recorded by his friends - music stars from the Balkans such as: Kaliopi, Nina Badric, Tony Cetinski, Jelena Tomasevic, Bojan Marovic, Elena Risteska, Aki Rahimovski and Boris Novkovic.

Stanfour is a band founded by brothers Alexander(vocals, keyboard) & Konstantin Rethwisch (vocals), Eike Lüchow (live-electronic, vocals) and Christian Lidsba (guitar) 2004 on the island of Föhr, where the four members live.
In September 2007 they released their debut single "Do it all" which entered the German charts on rank 46. Their second single "For all Lovers" was chosen as theme song for the Sat. 1 TV show "Nur die Liebe zählt" and stayed in the German charts for 18 weeks. Their first album Wild Life was released on 29 February 2008.
Stanfour toured with John Fogerty and the Backstreet Boys and played on shows with Bryan Adams, Daughtry and OneRepublic. In November 2008 they were nominated in the "Best Newcomer" category for the 1LiveKrone music award in Germany. During October and November 2009 they toured through Germany as opening acts for a-ha's Foot of the Mountain tour.
"Wishing you well" is the first single from their new album "Rise and fall". Both single and album made it to the upper ranks of the German charts.

FSC February 2010 - Bulgaria - Kristy Breton feat. 2nd Floor - Help Me
I would love to properly promote the entry as this is the one I invest the highest hopes for big results in, but I really can't. Kristy Breton and 2nd Floor are totally unknown in Bulgaria and this song wasn't a hit on the TV to attract attention to them for interviews or articles describing them. Infact it's so unknown, that I couldn't find an mp3 of it anywhere (that's why I waited until the last month to send it - I waited for an mp3, but in the end I had to rip it from youtube). But that adds to the charm of the song - so untypical for Bulgaria in style, being sung by totally unknown people.
Obviously these are from the "high class" musicians in our country, having nothing to do with the chalga genre (except for a few seconds in which Kristy shakes her breasts in 2:24, if that can be counted at all), and recreating the atmosphere of an old western night club with diamonds on the microphone and classy retro looks of everyone in it. The saxophone is also a key to the impression of this song and video.
Kristy Breton has a song from 3 years ago named Parlez-Vous Francais, again sung and known only to the few high class music admirers, which probably have something of an underground society and don't care much about fame or commersial success.
