This will do very well in public vote.
But his voice in the national final was terrible.

I am so curious if they know what this song is lol. No one is chanting the lyrics they are just enjoying the vibe.
They know the lyrics. More or less the lyrics are in Italian (even if Tommy sings in "Broccolino dialect" = Italian-American from Brooklyn) and then the internet helps to shed light on the dark points.

In Italy they are used to ironic and self-deprecating songs that have been very successful. This is an example:

People dancing shows how ordinary people are not touchy. They are ready to live lightly. Those who shouted at Tommy were politicians and loser associations who wanted to exploit the hype of "Espresso Macchiato" to get noticed.

I think Estonia could be in the Italian ESC Top 10.

Personally I am surprised how Italy, by dint of imposing itself musically, is bringing the ESC community closer to its culture and language. Since his return, it must be admitted that other nations have begun to understand that singing in their own language can be successful rather than singing in English, which, due to the singer's gaps and marked accents, often led to comical results.

The new music video is actually fire. The concept is great. Definitely needs to go with that during actual Eurovision.

German ESC blog "ESC kompakt" has started its annual songchecks, this year with :ee:.

The verdict of the bloggers:

Benny: The song is definitely catchy. But it's too flat for me to really get excited about it. It doesn't really appeal to my sense of humor. Okay, but that´s it, and therefore far below the potential of Tommy Cash. :4:

Berenike: "Espresso Macchiato" feels far too forced and unfunny to me, and therefore not funny at all. In fact, the song appears more as a troll than a joke entry to me. And because of that I don't like it. You aren't laughing with each other here, your're laughing at someone else. Tommy also doesn't look particularly likeable. :2:

Douze Points: I'm open minded towards coffee specialties – as long as they contain (cow's) milk. If in doubt, I'll have an espresso macchiato as well. Especially when it's delivered as cheerfully as Tommy Cash's. The melody is as simple as it´s brilliant, and the performance is slightly crazy, making you want to hang on. The song's instant catchy quality was recently visible at a friend of mine who´s only moderately interested in Eurovision songs. Even though he'd only heard half of "Espresso Macchiato," he wanted to hear it again hours later. Okay, so he asked me for the "Cappuccino Song"". But still. :10:

Manu: It was basicallly only a matter of time before Tommy Cash, who previously already worked together with Käärijä and Little Big, participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. Unlike these well-known names, Tommy Cash's musical style is rather tame: "Espresso Macchiato" turns out to be a cheerful pop number which should find its fans , also thanks to the unusual dance. I enjoy listening to it and especially love the songs first and by Andy Warhol's "Eating a Burger" inspired music video. By "Espresso Macchiato" itself I´ve already grown a bit tired though. :4:

Max: THE joke entry of 2025, no question about it. The song is catchy, the lyrics are completely bananas of for sure, but we're used to a lot of that from Tommy Cash. Combined with the quirky performance, it's of course one of the big favorites for the televoting, and most likely rightly so. I'm really excited about the performance in Basel – I've alreay had the song stuck in my head and on my playlists since December. :8:

Daniel Levi shared his favourites!

top 3: Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

his 3 least favourite: Czechia, Belgium and Cyprus.

And honestly, this makes sense (except for Czechia but his explanation was more like; of it sounds like it was made for esc therefore I don't like it and it wasn't like oh the song is bad).

I think all Switzerland, Germany and Italy will do well with the juries. Germany is one of the most modern entries this year and juries like to reward that. Switzerland and Italy are timeless.
