Not really. Tim Schou is the only well-known artist this year, and he got his breakthrough via Melodi Grand Prix.

It's more X Factor than Melfest in that regard. The established names feel they have too much to lose.

Until the 1990's it was like Melfest.

I like Denmarks viking entry Higher Ground from 2018 i voted for it apparently that song was first sent to the swedish selection but didnt even come through for some strange reason it was much better then the horrible swedish entry of that year.

Rasmussen was unknown before 2018, and he is basically unknown today.

An artist often needs more then one hit to be established. But i think Denmark should have won in 2018 and his voice was good. As a matter of fact I think it is on of the best songs of the last years. I would have put it as the winner every year since it took part.

How high are the chances of Sissal winning? I got that song on repeat and she would easily be my number 1.

My concern is the live orchestra that DMGP always uses. It killed several songs before, especially the uptempo ones. Any infos on that? I need Hallucination, it’s my last hope for this season

At least in the odds Sissal is No 1 with 59%, No 2 is Maria with 10%.

They are not using an orchestra this year - sadly.

I heard that it was the singers who preferred not to have a live orchestra.

People hate on MGP anyway, so there isn't much to be won on that account. (Same goes for songs in Danish btw.)

In contrast to last year, I don't have a clear top 3-4. It's all about Hallucination, but considering how earlier Danish pre-favourites have failed live, I'm not feeling confident.

Here's the thing. This DMGP is better than last year but I still don't feel inspired by any of these and this isn't me trying to be a hater.

Tim Schou's song Proud is probably my favorite on first listen but even that I have some gripes with sonically. As an aside those opening bars sound familiar to me but I can't pinpoint what song that is. Unlike most songs (other than Adel the Second) it doesn't completely blend in with every other song.

Maria Mathea has a nice ballad but it's pretty chanceless. I guess Adel the Second would be the riskiest choice here . I need to say that live before making a definitive opinion on it. I get why Sissal's entry is the fan favorite and always great to have Faroe Islanders in but for Loreen influenced songs Liepa did it better. Hallucination feels to paint by numbers.

Allez allez I was hoping to be more memorable as the only Danish song in this edition but its too vanilla. Maybe the staging can change that.

I do expect Sissal to take it in the end.

I just asked because the name spelling is typical eastern European or it seems so to me.

The song is actually pretty good, better than most songs sent by Denmark to Eurovision in last years.
