This guy does have talent. He needed better material and staging. Maybe he could return some day with a more authentic song and performance.

8 points from the global vote, are there really that many dedicated voters from Slovakia?

Why is it do you think people in Czech Republic are not into Eurovision more? Is it because of results and would it change dramatically if Czechia won Eurovision?

That could be a good topic for someone's masters thesis. It is a mix of many aspects, one major one could be joining late, as already mentioned. By the time we joined, some countries like Estonia had already about 15 years of experience, and the foundation of this relationship was built in the 90s when the contest was much calmer than the chaotic late 00s.
Sending the most popular band on our fist attempt, finishing dead last and after that, the band giving interviews to all media saying ESC is a bizarre circus - opinion which I think stuck with many people. Then we withdrew for many years and although the contest changed a lot for the better once we returned, I think people just didn't bother to give it a chance.

And, probably the main reason - Czech journalists. This piece was published on the most read Czech newspaper after this year's final. :)

Thank you for replying to this. This was an interesting read.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head there about making the comparison to countries like Estonia that had years to settle into the contest, especially at a time before semi-finals were introduced at Eurovison.

I've always enjoyed the Czech Eurovision entries, can't even remember the last time I disliked a song from Czech Republic, also can't lie it does help that your country is generous to the UK when it comes to voting. :)

Wow this sounds even more like winner material!

Seems like it will be released on March 7th! My birthday!
Well if they had made the right decisions this could have really been a top 5 entry! But the official version wasn't as convincing as the Maltese NF Version, the dance break wasn't needed at all, the staging and styling was awful...

Oh dear. I still like the dancebreak in the song, but the performance and staging was just bad. Yeah, it is what it is.
