Dreamt of you last night
Woke up, you weren't there
Five nights in a row
Of dreams I've never shared

You come without a warning
Early in the morning
Timing's never been our thing
Leaving me with guilt
The only souvenir you bring

I'm with him and you're a secret treasure
He's devotion, you're a guilty pleasure
I'm with him and this is real life, honey
Guess the joke's no longer funny

I'm with him until the death do us part
But it doesn't do for this hungry heart
I'm with him, but in my frantic head
You always come and say:

"Would you run away?"
"Would you run away with me?"
"Would you run away?"
"Would you run away?"

One love is enough
That's all you ever get
Least that's what they tell you
Still, I can't forget

Eyes like burning ashes
Till the sunlight flashes
Can't be cold, but I've been taught
Captivated by the
Thunderstorm in which I'm caught

I'm with him and you're a secret treasure
He's devotion, you're a guilty pleasure
I'm with him and this is real life, honey
Guess the joke's no longer funny

I'm with him until the death do us part,
But it doesn't do for this hungry heart
I'm with him, but in my frantic head
You always come and say:

"Would you run away?" (Would you run away?)
"Would you run away with me?"
"Would you run away?" (Would you run away?)
"Would you run away?"

(Would you run away?)
In this real life, there's no way
In this real life, I have to say (Would you run away?)
In this real life, there's no way
In this real life

I'm with him and you're a secret treasure
He's devotion, you're a guilty pleasure
I'm with him and this is real life, honey
Guess the joke's no longer funny

I'm with him until the death do us part,
But it doesn't do for this hungry heart
I'm with him, but in my frantic head
You always come and say, say, say:

"Would you run away?" (Would you run away?)
"Would you run away with me?"
"Would you run away?" (Would you run away?)
"Would you run away?"

(Would you run away?)
In this real life, there's no way (Would you run away?)
In this real life, I have to say (Would you run away?)
In this real life, there's no way (Would you run away?)
In this real life

I'm a bit surprised this song is ranked so low in the fan forums. I think it's a clear qualifier. What is it about this song that people dislike?
I personally don´t dislike it but I do think that it suffers from a problem of being way too "ordinary" I guess.

Which is not always a bad thing as long as the song can hook you instantly..........but for this one it kinda took me several listens to remember how the song goes when I was listening to all the DORA entries for the first time.
Many others probably had the same impression.

I´m thinking that probably the song would be getting more attention and appreciation if it was completely surrounded by nothing but high energy up-tempo competition. Sadly, that´s not the case.

Thanx for trying to explain, I just think it's lovely.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by Mia's performance at the London Pre Party. Her voice is sweet but warm at the same time and "Guilty Pleasure" is a good song that draws more strength on the music and lyrics than on the performance. If I were to compare Mia with many female ASC singers to me she is much more she embodied much more that American spirit of a girl singing with her guitar in hand. I listen the public singing very involved and this made me very happy. The mini-challenge at the Eurovision Song Contest will be between Mia, the Systur and even more Rosa Linn (with whom she has slight similarities). I think it will be a NQ in Turin but I hope Mia will prove me wrong and conquer the public with her sweetness. Regarding the choice of the NF dancer, I honestly don't like it. I find the choice completely disconnected from the song. "Guilty Pleasure" is a song that does not need a show but a minimal atmosphere.

Great performance and she‘s so beautiful! Natural beauty. I'm so hoping she will qualify. I don’t understand why this is so underrated. It's similar to Lithuania's "When we're old" and that one did pretty well.
I think she will qualify actually, but on the other hand I'm usually wrong so make of that what you will I guess...

Taken from .net forum:
Croatian HOD Štengl told Jutarnji about the changes in Mia's performance:
- She will have two male and one female dancer. As confirmed earlier, the dancer from Dora won't be this time.
- She will be accompanied with two backing singers.
- ELFS will design her costume for ESC. They are still considering the colour of her costume (Štengl mentioned white, black, red and pink).

Seems like a pretty decent concept close to the lyrics. Can see some contemporary dance to depict the female having thoughts of committing adultery. LOL! Great to include backing singers, would cleverly mask parts that she doesn't sound too good.

In 2018, Ireland was called 'sure NQ' and at the bottom of all lists before the contest, but then did pretty decently. Croatia gives me similar vibes. If they can pull off the staging, I have hope for qualification.

I've seen few preview parties. She can receive some points from Ukraine ;)

We will LOVE her pronunciation.

Even if she would have invited Verka to sing that line in a duet, nothing can save this muddy boredom. 🤣

Instead let's see what Croatia had not sent to ESC. A video was released for Marko's Moli za nas.

The beast haunts me
You call her fear
I call her dream
In front of her doors
I struggle to catch breath
Because once I enter what/where has never been mine
Summoned by an unknown voice
These hands of mine, as the only salvation, they will defy
Pray for us

Nothing but ice here
Whereas the heart looks for a spark
Pray for us, pray for us
Nothing but a sin here
Whereas the soul looks for heavens
Pray for us, pray for us

In the gut cut
A muffled voice can't get out
It's the same
Whether you shed blood or tears when you are young

Because once I enter what/where has never been mine...
Repetition

I had this song on my mind the whole day yesterday. I really like the melody, but I think the song could be spiced up somewhat. I'm thinking it could easily have been a Taylor Swift song, but if she sang it, there would be more power in particularly the chorus - it's a bit too singer-songwriter for my liking.

Apparently, the Croatian delegation asked for EBU´s permission to include some lines in Croatian:

I don't like the idea... I didn't mind Cro part last year, because it kinda blended into the song... It didn't stick out. But I just can't imagine how it would work with this song.
We'll see...

I really thought that there was a rule stating that one cannot change the song after being submitted to the EBU (changing like doing another revamp) - maybe they want to pull off a Lithuanian 2018 and just sing a single line in Croatian?

Personally, I think that "Guilty Pleasure" sounds very "Mainstream-American-TaylorSwift" in a light way (I´m not levelling criticism since I actually enjoy listening to this entry) and therefore, I don´t think that the inclusion of Croatian words/line(s) won´t lift the overall entry to another level, either.

If I got it right, that's exactly what they want to do. When talking about the possibility, she used the word "verse", in singular form.
