I totally get why you‘re upset about this not making the cut. It really would‘ve spiced things up a lot, it sounds great! I also think that it feels way more „finished“ than a lot of other entries, for the lack of a better term.

Judging by their application video on YouTube, they seem to have applied with Pump It. I wonder if they would have to censor the lyrics or revamp the whole song, since there‘s quite a lot of swearing and screaming in it. Or maybe they‘ll have to use a completely different song that is not yet...

I find myself listening to Inmate's The Salt from EMA 2020 every now and then. One of the best ever metal songs in a national final in my opinion. Unfortunately, it didn't do too well back then but I still hope they're going to return to EMA this year. As we say in Germany, 'Aller guten Dinge...
