Israel ISRAEL 2024 - Eden Golan - Hurricane

Kind of like the French song it's made more to highlight the vocal than to showcase decent fun/fresh music. Though there's the added disadvantage here of them incorporating a conflict into a song and trying to manipulate. The reason some hype it is either politics or because they like that...

Croatia CROATIA 2024 - Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim

The Maneskin song seemed more about their look and presence on stage wowing some people more than anything else. He may have had swagger but the song had the most annoying hook which means it will always be among my least favourite winners ever. As annoying as Toy in its own way.

Austria AUSTRIA 2024 - Kaleen - We Will Rave

WTHIE is easily the best of those 3 to me. Then We Will Rave Then Halo 90s music isn't always the best, arguably there's greater dance music earlier. WTHIE by not restricting itself to simply being a retro style arguably became more creative musically. And of course the lyrics were better...

    Portugal PORTUGAL 2024 - iolanda - Grito

Very professional and sung very precisely and clearly just like some other Portuguese entries of modern times. But I still don't feel that much emotion, I don't know if things get watered down for Eurovision or whether it's the modern style, but when I've heard classic songs of traditional...

France FRANCE 2024 - Slimane - Mon amour

Why, because you like the song? He's not the only good singer. Or you think it's better as a vocal showcase than some other songs like Veronika? The song isn't fresh at all, so I don't think they would give top points based on music.

Austria AUSTRIA 2024 - Kaleen - We Will Rave

Not at all. 2021 was after the coronovirus and various entries had longer to improve and get a better song for the task.

Ukraine UKRAINE 2024 - Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil - Teresa & Maria

I'd actually prefer to hear more of the lead singer in this song, the chanting (while catchy and atmospheric) takes up too much of it, and I still don't like the rap part much.

Croatia CROATIA 2024 - Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim

I didn't think the staging was that bad at the national selection. Some slight adjustments such as some better camerawork but it was certainly more interesting than the music video (including the costumes).

    Armenia ARMENIA 2024 - Ladaniva - Jako

The chorus is the weakest part but it does mix things up as apart from the verses there's the woodwind part, that deeper note, the call and response and the big note at the start (the intro is really good) and at the end when it builds to a good climax. I like that they didn't feel they had to...

United Kingdom UNITED KINGDOM 2024 - Olly Alexander - Dizzy

While I'm not a fan of the song it won't have the big climax of the kind of songs mentioned here. Maybe that's why Space Man did well, because it had that power to the vocal. It certainly wouldn't be 'sensational' at all if a BBC entry finished bottom 5, that would be more if an entry from RAI...

United Kingdom UNITED KINGDOM 2018 - SuRie - Storm

BBC apologise for a lunatic who was allowed to get onto the stage by the organisers in Portugal?

She knows exactly what she is getting into, she knows why this song was sent. Publicity (of any kind) for her career is probably more important to her.

Ukraine UKRAINE 2024 - Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil - Teresa & Maria

It's in a different style, so not so easy to compare imo, but the other 3 have similarities.

Ukraine UKRAINE 2024 - Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil - Teresa & Maria

From: Shum to Stefania to Teresa & Maria I think it's been a steady decline. Shum was tight but with variety, Stefania a lot looser but quite decent, Teresa & Maria is ok but only two main parts and the catchy chant needs more to play off.

Cyprus CYPRUS 2024 - Silia Kapsis - Liar

The chorus is still the best part for me. The dance break isn't great music. And before that the lyrics in the verse and bridge to the chorus have a kind of rhyming which can annoy. This is how lyrics can contribute to undermining music, unlike the great Iru song last year. Kontopoulos...

Lithuania LITHUANIA 2024 - Silvester Belt - Luktelk

That was much better than this. One of those I don't really get. Some people seem to like the groove or vibe of it, but there's neither a great hook or any real intensity to grip me.

    Luxembourg LUXEMBOURG 2024 - Tali - Fighter

Hopefully she at least looks better on stage, you see pictures of her and she really isn't someone who needs loads of make-up at all. Maybe they need to glam her up for this kind of song, but if that's the case maybe it just isn't the kind of song that suits her?

Italy ITALY 2024 - Angelina Mango - La noia

If only the song was better eh? With all the worship of Sanremo, all the praise of performance, of production, of the fact that songs are in Italian...that doesn't necessarily mean the songs are that great beyond the reputation. The part that starts 'Muoio senza morire' (and whenever it recurs...

The Netherlands NETHERLANDS 2024 - Joost Klein - Europapa

The undercover part is him asking for votes by mentioning various places. The slight irony being that the food part isn't so complimentary, but as he's saying that in Dutch people won't know.

Israel ISRAEL 2024 - Eden Golan - Hurricane

If a small country in Eurovision terms entered this it would be a very clear NQ and possibly even finish bottom.
