The NSC family tree. Lineage is determined by who was hosting when the nation debuted. Only lines ending in current roster nations (as of NSC 243) are included. Credit to @doctormalisimo for the idea and for creating a spreadsheet with lineage data.

NSC_family_tree_2

Fun facts:

1. The longest lines (with 9 nations each) are

Arjastan -> Escotia -> Astoria -> Vorhota -> Scorpionia -> Pigeon Island -> Biflovatia -> Szimbaya Kingdom -> Grand Duchy of Strenci
Arjastan -> Escotia -> Astoria -> Vorhota -> Scorpionia -> Pigeon Island -> Bacchus -> Doire -> MatiMati
Arjastan -> Escotia -> Astoria -> Vorhota -> Scorpionia -> Pigeon Island -> Bacchus -> Doire -> Kimmystan

2. The largest of the 6 main branches (Adamsburg, Escotia, Hibernia, Reym-L-Dneurb, Spila, Ugaly) in terms of the current roster is Spila, with 25 current roster nations.

3. The longest lines that contain only 1 current roster nation are:

Arjastan -> Hibernia -> Alinta -> Prasia -> Luzinia -> Uferbruht -> Kadis -> Sodermalm
Arjastan -> Escotia -> Astoria -> Vorhota -> Scorpionia -> Pigeon Island -> Bacchus -> Emsfrynt

4. Due to joint hostings, Afnia, Marcobia and Roxma Nova are all in three of the main branches (Escotia, Spila, Ugaly).

5. Rehi Kaita does not have any family members due to debuting in the hostless edition :(

And here's a time-lapse video showing the evolution of the family tree over the editions (you may need to manually increase the playback quality to 1080p)

maybe my vision is too blurry, but I can't find Svobodnia in the image... o_Oo_O (together with Solentoya where I debuted)

also, two of the nations that debuted/returned in my edition (Effiland, Utopolis) are sadly not with us anymore and Reym-L-Dneurb returned, so no lines after me, I guess..

Shouldn’t 228 count as under Zaprya (or if we go by user, Trollheimer) 🤔

Ahh, damn, you're right, Svobodnia is missing. Sorry about that. I'll fix the tree tomorrow.

It technically took place outside Natia entirely, in neutral territory on the international space station (which is called the ISS Zaprya, yes, but it's not actually Zaprya territory, just an homage to a former mod and a pun on the ISS Zarya).

@Rmetr0 Svobodnia has now been added to the tree :) (The video will take a bit longer to update)

I also managed to get rid of the overlapping arrows, so the graph looks cleaner in general now.

EDIT: Video has been updated now too.
