WorldVision Spinoff 185: Year Randomizer 7

Welcome to Helsinki for WorldVision Spinoff 185. The theme is Year Randomizer 7.
This edition will be conducted in three phases: Year suggestions, entry submissions, and the show/voting.


Phase 1: Year Suggestions (April 18 - 24)​

Everyone who wishes to participate will suggest a year by posting it in this thread. Only one participant may pick a particular year. The year can be from 1945 to 2019.

Please note that the following years are taken:

1957
1967 • 1968
1974 • 1979
1984 • 1986 • 1989
1991 • 1994 • 1997
2000 • 2001 • 2005 • 2009
2012 • 2015 • 2016 • 2019​

After the suggestion phase closes, the names of the participants will be matched with the suggested years through the Randomizer.

The deadline is April 24 at 23:59 CEST.

Phase 2: Entry Submissions (April 25 - May 2)​

When you receive your year, you must select a song that was released in that year in the country/region that you have chosen to represent. The song must not have been used in a previous Year Randomizer spinoff. The list of the used songs begins here.

Phase 3: The Show/Voting (May 3 - 14)​

The show will be posted after the phase two deadline is closed and the voting will take place then. The scoring will be done in the ESC format.

I have set 1960 as the earliest year for this contest because I perceive the 1940s and the 1950s to be hard years to research, and we are very close to Eurovision Week. This is my attempt to make this contest easier for everyone.

@Marcos C For older years, people can easily go to Wikipedia and search for "XXXX in music" (replacing the Xs with the year in question) and you will get a list of hit singles that year, albums released and so on!
