Nations or members in cyan have entered NSC at least once before.

Waiting list (WL) rules:

  • Voting in each final of NSC as part of the waiting list jury is compulsory.
  • Any waiting list nations who fail to vote will be moved 2 places down on the list.
  • Nations who fail to vote 2 finals in a row will be removed from the list.
  • Under certain circumstances waiting list nations can take a break from voting in the finals if a solid reason is given. During that period of time the position of the nation on the waiting list remains frozen and it can move neither up nor down.
  • Nations with 'NSC XXX' beside them will debut/return in the next contest.
  • Nations with 'NSC XXX?' beside them can send a reserve entry to the next contest.

First of all, welcome to NSC! If you have any questions regarding the contest, feel free to post them in this thread or ask one of the mods: @Stargazer, @berlyda or @Veronika.

In order to get familiar with the contest, please take a look at the RULES!

If you want to apply for a place in NSC (or if you want to return), simply send a PM to Stargazer - you'll be added to the waiting list (see above).

Please note that you are probably going to be waiting for a long time as there is a strong demand for spots on the roster. In the meantime, you may enter the Waiting List contest, vote in the semi-finals of NSC and take part in the various spin-off contests if you wish to. Don't forget that voting in the finals is compulsory.

And most importantly: Have fun!

I mean, Mackan was given a pass when Xanadu merged with Prasia back in the 90s? Don't get me wrong, I have always been for the regulation of multiplayer activity in this contest, but I don't think we can stop Alex from joining Aimulli if Territrius is okay with it. I think what is questionable is that Territrius was allowed to take over Aimulli years ago, but no one was bothered by that back in the day. I would say we need to regulate how we handle situations like this from this point on. But right now, they are not doing anything unlawful.

PS: I do emphatize with the WL nations so much and I feel for them. But this seems to be a loophole.

No one. Someone is trying to jump the line and people ask me what I think of it. I think it's fucking bullshit.
And that's fine but I don't think it's necessary to respond like that.

As a former wl (thrice) and nsc (one and a half) participant and possible candidate for a fourth wl experience, I should give my 2 cents and say I don't care with this whole bullshit. If it's bothering y'all then why didn't you stop this whole shitstorm from the first swap?

Oh yay, a dumpster fire of a discussion.

Afaik Alex was the original owner of the nation, Nicolas joined and then at some point Alex dropped off and Nicolas had defacto control of the nation, even if technically Alex was the owner all along. There's nothing in the rules about this (and even if there were, someone could just play as a proxy sending the PMs while someone else did all the listening, voting, song selection etc, so I'm not sure the rule would even help here) and it feels like if an issue would be raised, it should have been raised when Alex left, not now.

It is deeply unfair to people on the WL that a nation has been allowed to take part this whole time, however Aimulli is a long-established nation who have taken part for about 80 editions,so would be on the roster anyway if Nicolas had reapplied whenever Alex left. This obviously doesn't make it fair, but it kinda sways me towards leaving things as they are as if the "right thing" had been done, Aimulli would still be on the roster now anyway. Removing Aimulli doesn't fix the dozens of editions they were on the roster.

What I do very much disagree with is how this was dragged out in public when I think berlyda was owed a response in private first. Everyone obviously has a right to defend themselves and to give their side of the story, but I don't like seeing dirty laundry being aired in public as I don't think that's fair too.

Just to be clear, when you say "leave things as they are", do you mean leave Nicolas as the sole de facto owner of Aimulli?

Either Nicolas as sole owner or Alex joining as co-juror, ie whatever would be happening if this wasn't being discussed.
I think the major issue that people are having is that Alex will be the sole present player for Aimulli with Nicolas leaving the contest for an as yet undisclosed period of time, so it seems like more of a swap that a co-juror situation.

Sorry but it's not the same. I invited Xanadu to join Prasia but I never had intentions to leave the nation to Mackan. That would be really unfair to the others. After having a Serbia & Montenegro period, Xanadu left and I kept the rights of Prasia and UEOHPAX forever. In this case, the real owner wants to have the spot alone since Territius claims that he leaves the nation to him. I find it pretty unfair to the WL.

Wait, some of you has been doing the same stuff and no one gave a f- until now but then it's an issue and suddenly everybody wants to think how it's unfair to WLers? For something that there's not a single specified rule?

You need senhit x
