The first semifinal of Estonia’s national selection, Eesti Laul, has just wrapped up, and we’ve learned our first slate of qualifiers to its final! After a combined vote from the jury and the televote, The Swingers/Tanja/Birgit, Stefan, Victor Crone, and Inger received the first four spots in the Eesti Laul final.

Our first four finalists.

After those four qualifiers were announced, the televoters, per Eesti Laul tradition, were granted the chance to pick two wildcards. Ultimately, they chose Eurovision 2009 alum Sandra Nurmsalu for one wildcard spot and xtra basic & Emily J’s collaboration for the second.

The only potentially shocking result among these is that Sandra Nurmsalu needed the second round televoters to push her into the final. A peek at the jury results showed her outside the top 4, so it’s possible that, as Eesti Laul moves to a slightly televote-leaning final, her fortunes may improve.

What do #YOU think of the qualifiers? Did Estonia make the right choice? Do you think we’ve seen the Eesti Laul winner in this crowd? Sound off on social media and on our forum!
