Usually, the wait is normally a bit longer, but for once, the EBU has decided to end all the speculations rather faster than normal, today we were finally presented the running order for both semi-finals, and with that, we now know where each semi-finalist will perform in their respective semi-final.

Running Order 2023!

Since 2013, the running order has been purely decided based on multiple factors, such as props, the genre of all songs, and so on. The idea has since been, to make each song stick out, rather than risking having songs that are similar in style being stacked next to each other, by pure chance.

This trend is continuing into 2023, and at the moment, only 4 out of the 6 pre-qualified nations that are missing their slot, but this won’t be decided before the contest takes place anyways, so now let’s have a look at where all the semi-finalists will perform:

First Semi-final

The honor of opening it all on the 9th of May, during the first semi-final, goes to Norway’s Alessandra, with her song “Queen of Kings“, while the closing number will be Finland’s Käärijä with “Cha Cha Cha“. In that case, we’ll be starting in the Nordics, as well as finishing in the Nordics.

  7. 🇭🇷 Croatia: Let 3 – “Mama ŠČ!
  8. 🇨🇭 Switzerland: Remo Forrer – “Watergun
  9. 🇮🇱 Israel: Noa Kirel – “Unicorn
  10. 🇲🇩 Moldova: Pasha Parfeni – “Soarele si Luna
  11. 🇸🇪 Sweden: Loreen – “Tattoo
  12. 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan: TuralTuranX – “Tell Me More
  13. 🇨🇿 Czechia: Vesna – “My Sister’s Crown
  14. 🇳🇱 Netherlands: Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper – “Burning Daylight
  15. 🇫🇮 Finland: Käärijä – “Cha Cha Cha

France, Germany and Italy will also have the honor of performing a short snippet of their song, as well as the right to vote in this semi-final.

Second Semi-final

Meanwhile, the honor of opening the second semi-final on the 11th of May goes to Denmark’s Reiley and his song “Breaking My Heart“, while closing this semi-final will be done by Australia’s Voyager and their song “Promise“. Once again we’ll be starting in the Nordics, but this time, we’ll end on the other side of the planet.
