It appears that parts of Europe is slowly figuring things out, and today, Luxembourg could also officially confirm, that they once again will be present. The national broadcaster (RTL) could finally confirm it, and we can once again look forward to their national final for 2026.
Luxembourg Song Contest 2026
Not much has been revealed so far, but we do know that Luxembourg will indeed make use of their national final once again. Rules and dates have not yet been revealed, but have been confirmed that further details will be released in the coming weeks.
What is known so far, is that the “Rockhal” venue will once again host the national final. The venue also hosted the contest both in 2024 and 2025, as in, since Luxembourg finally decided to return to the competition after a wait that lasted 3 decades.
It is currently only speculation, but it is expected that the national final will follow with the same format from the past 2 years, with several artists taking part in the contest, who are decided upon from various rounds of auditions and song combinations. In the past, artists could apply without a song, and then afterwards be paired with a song to perform potentially, as well as songwriters openly offering songs for the competition, without an attached artist.
The past two editions of Luxembourg Song Contest have both taken place at the end of January, and it is speculated that the competition will once again be held around that time. Once again, more details to follow in the coming weeks.
In 2025, Laura Thorn won the national selection, and therefor also the one to represent Luxembourg in Basel. With the song “La Poupée Monte Le Son” she managed to qualify the country to the final, where she managed to gather a total of 47 points, finishing at 22nd place.
