The online voting that selected three jury members for ‘Vidbir 2024’ is officially over. There were 9 candidates and 3 of them became jury members. The candidates were:
- Andriy Danylko – Creator of and entertainer Verka Serduchka (Eurovision 2007)
- Jamala – Winner of Eurovision 2016
- Kateryna Pavlenko – Lead singer of Go_A (Eurovision 2021)
- Oleksandr Varenytsia – PR specialist and co-founder of press agency Go West
- Olena Kolyadenko – Choreographer and leader of Freedom Ballet
- Pavlo Shilko – TV and radio host, presenter of Eurovision 2005
- Serhiy Tanchynets – Leader singer of the rock band Bez Obmezhen’
- Yevhen Khmara – Composer and virtuoso pianist
- Yevhen Triplov – Composer and producer
With voting closed, the public has selected Andriy Danylko (Verka Serduchka), Jamala and Serhiy Tanchynets as the jury members of ‘Vidbir 2024’. Andriy received the highest amount of support, with 43.79% of the 720,000 votes being cast in his favor.
Oksana Skybinska, Head of Ukrainian Delegation at Eurovision, added that there were changes in who were leading the vote this year, and now “we have a musician, who knows how to create hit tracks, winner and also an icon of Eurovision as leaders of the voting.”
Further to that, hosts of ‘Vidbir 2024’ were also revealed. One of them will be Timur Miroshnychenko, who has hosted a number of Eurovision related events including ‘Eurovision 2017’. Another host is Julia Sanina, leader of ‘Hardkiss’ band and host of ‘Eurovision 2023’. Moreover, there will be a 3rd host, Vasyl Baidak, Ukrainian stand-up comedian.
This year’s ‘Vidbir 2024’ that will take place on 3rd of February 2024 will decide who will be a representative of Ukraine this year in Sweden.
