Today’s news come to from Croatia.
Ten-year-old Marino Vrgoč from Ploče, a coastal town in southern Croatia, has been announced as the country’s representative for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Speaking about the moment he found out, Marino said: “I was really surprised when they told me, I couldn’t believe it.”
Marino rose to national fame earlier this year after winning the very first season of The Voice Kids Hrvatska in February. His emotional performances and quiet confidence quickly made him a fan favorite.
Marino’s mother, Manda, shared what the journey has meant for their family.
“Everything about this experience was unexpected. Marino really came into his own. He was always a quiet boy, but now he’s grown into someone much more confident and mature.”
She also praised the production team behind The Voice Kids Hrvatska for their constant support and clear communication throughout the process, which was especially important given the family’s frequent travels from Ploče.
Tomislav Štengl, the Head of Croatia’s Junior Eurovision delegation, confirmed that 9 countries have so far signed up to participate in this year’s competition. These countries are: 🇭🇷 Croatia, 🇬🇪 Georgia, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇲🇰 North Macedonia, 🇵🇱 Poland, 🇵🇹 Portugal, and 🇸🇲 San Marino. While the official host city is still under wraps, Štengl hinted that Georgia is the likely destination.
